Databases, D7CX, and DrupalCon

Do you have a Drupal module you want to upgrade to Drupal 7?

Do you want to know how to leverage the Drupal 7 database layer to make your module better?

Will you be at DrupalCon?

There should be about 500 of you that meet that criteria, by my estimate. More than enough for a BoF. :-)

Although there's no session in Paris specifically on DBTNG, I will be hosting a BoF sometime on Tuesday (Day 1) for anyone who wants to get up to speed on the new database API. It will be part presentation, part crash course, depending on who shows up. My hope is that people come away knowing enough about the new API to help out on the Day 5 Code Sprint...

On Day 5, I will be available most of the day to further help people with module upgrades (at least as far as the database goes). Hopefully we'll have some people from the BoF around to help as well so we can have a full court press of module updating.

So what's in it for you? Well, aside from being able to get your module updated for Drupal 7 early it means you will come out of Paris as one of the experts in the new system. That puts you in a perfect position to help others get their modules updated and build your own Drupal karma. That in turn helps get more modules ready for Drupal 7 by the time we release so that Drupal 7 can hit the ground running, and run right over all competitors.

Drupal world domination begins with you and your database. Let's make it happen in Paris.
